Info

Well, my name is Julie, and I'm a (female) 23-year-old in my senior year of college at William Paterson University. I'm majoring in Communication with a journalism concentration, and hopefully I'll be getting my B.A. in May. After that, I have no idea what I'll be doing, because that's all the way in May, and I'm lucky if I can manage to plan ahead a couple of weeks, let alone half a year.

Family-wise, I've got 4 (help, please) siblings, all younger, and all of them in their teens except for one baby sister. Both parents alive and okay, but divorced, all four grandparents still kicking (though I don't know for how much longer), and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins as well. Plus two cats and a dog. But it's not like you care about any of that, so... onward.

Personal traits... well, I'm smart, though by no means brilliant. I'm also fairly lazy and an experienced procrastinator. I am so good at putting things off, it's not funny. It is, however, surprising that I've managed to get this far in life, all things considered. All in all, it's by far my worst failing, and if you happen to have wandered to this journal because I've stopped posting somewhere or left a fic hanging somewhere else, well, now you know why. I really should do something about it... but I'm putting it off. (Ba-dum-crash!)

On the bright side, I'm friendly if a little anti-social at times (not in an "I hate people" way, but more an "I'm the type who enjoys solitude on occasion" way), I'm open-minded, I have a good sense of humor, and I'm even-tempered enough that I don't snap at people often. So I'm a decent person overall. =P

Hobbies

I am a geek. I love anime, manga, video games, sci-fi, fantasy, and all that good stuff. I'm not an entirely well-rounded geek, but in those few geek fandoms I really, truly love, I like to think that I know my way around.

I like to write. Even love it, at times, although I can be unforgivably lazy even when it comes to the things I love, so I don't always get very far. But I do have an infinite amount of stories and universes and things swirling about my head even if I'll never get around to putting them all down on paper. So yeah, I consider myself a writer.

I also study martial arts, which is kind of random, but deserves mentioning anyway. I've been training in Okinawan karate (Goju Ryu, Shorin Ryu, etc.) for ten years, and earned my second-degree black belt last May.

Fandoms

I've had many an obsession over the years, and while I dabble in all sorts of things, I tend to have one main fandom that lasts me a few years before I eventually migrate to another one. Started with Star Wars, which I was obsessed with as a kid, and which I'm still very fond of now. Eventually I got into anime, starting with Ronin Warriors and then Gundam Wing on Toonami, then moving into Digimon (which rules so much, questionable dub or no), then into Inuyasha, and finally Naruto, which is where my fickle fangirl heart currently resides.

Concerning fanfiction, I have a number of abandoned fics from my days in the SW, RW, GW, and Digimon fandoms, but none of them every really got far enough that I was willing to post them on the net (which is good for me, because they were terrible). With Inuyasha, however, I finally hit a fandom where I felt like I knew the characters well enough to write about them well. Hence, the handful of Inuyasha fics I've posted at ff.net.

Then Naruto came along, and of course like any reasonable person I completely fell in love with it, so it took over. Naruto's also the first fandom I've ever managed to write a multi-chapter fic (fics, plural, even) for, so I've come a long way under its addicting lure. I'm also currently a smod at the infamous Naruto Forums, though that's not all that relevant. (And also in the category of "not relevant": Sasuke is my favorite character, followed closely by Naruto, then by Kakashi, Sakura, Obito, Gaara, and Aoba. And there aren't any characters I really hate, as unusual as that is. Kishimoto writes a good universe, what can I say.)

Other fandoms I'm into are listed in my interests, and still others I haven't even bothered to list at all, but they exist. This thesis is long enough as is, though.

- Current journal banner art is from 2co, and played around with in Photoshop CS by me.
- Userpic fanart from the following sites:

Hige Metro
(Others to be listed hopefully soon.)

Anyway, so that's some stuff about me. If for some reason you felt compelled to read it, and for some other strange reason you actually read it all... well, thank you. And if not, I'd have probably done the same, so it's all right. =P
